Doug is a `musical spelunker`- taking deep dives into every musical cavern he can find. Starting out in the `serious` world of classical music, after studying under the daunting Gunther Schuller and playing principal trumpet in the Santa Rosa Symphony for 30 years, he's migrated to the `serious fun` world of jazz and creative music. He's worked and played with local luminaries (Harold Jones, Marcus Shelby, Deborah Winters, Kenny Washington, Erik Jakobsen, James Moseley - to name a few) and with the Moody Blues, Yes, Four Freshmen, Johnny Mathis, Glen Campbell, Bob Newhart, Chris Botti, among many others. His pieces have been played around the world, and locally by the SF Symphony, Santa Rosa, ACT, SF Chamber Singers and lots of other jazz and classical ensembles. |
Josh is a monster bass player. He's explored a wild range of bass playing styles, from his early days wearing a checkered tie in a ska band, to formal gigging in orchestras, musical pits, and cruise ship theaters. Josh has had the pleasure of playing fine venues like Yoshi's, The Mystic, The Bitter End NYC, and can also be found playing in the Bay Area with original funk/pop/rock band Burrows & Dilbeck. He also teaches bass online to a wide audience of over one million viewers per month. |
Kendrick Freeman is a rhythmic genius. He has background in both drum set and hand drums, having studied with American artists and musicians from Ghana, Congo, and the Caribbean, with an emphasis on the music of Haiti. Like all working musicians, he does freelance work with a large pool of Bay Area players. He teaches privately and at Sonoma State University, where he leads an ensemble in the Jazz Program. Kendrick has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Alliance for California Traditional Arts. |
